CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky.鈥斍喙鲜悠 added Books n Beans, a new coffee and snack shop, to Montgomery Library this semester.

Books n Beans, which is also open to the public, is open seven days a week: Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. until midnight, and Saturday and Sunday 7 p.m. until midnight.

Books n Beans is located inside the Bright-Redmon Commons of Montgomery Library, located on 青瓜视频's campus at 116 University Drive, Campbellsville. Entrances are located in front and at the newest entrance off the Chowning Patio.

A ribbon cutting was recently held for the Bright-Redmon Commons, named for George and Floydene (Redmon) Bright, and the Chowning Patio, named for John Chowning, vice president for church and external relations and executive assistant to the president, and his wife Cathy.

At the ribbon cutting, Dr. Michael V. Carter, president of 青瓜视频, said, 青瓜视频 strives to make a turn in a godly direction. 鈥淭here is a turn that takes place in people's lives at this institution,鈥 he said.

Carter thanked the Brights and Chowning for their contribution to improve Montgomery Library and make a nice common area for socializing and studying. 鈥淚t is out of these capital projects where a turn takes place,鈥 Carter said. 鈥淲e are really here to celebrate the turn which takes place because of the power of Jesus Christ. Christian higher education will always be under our Lord.鈥

Jodi Allen, dean of Student Services, said, 鈥淵ou can tell a space is incredibly useful when students start to put it in their daily vocabulary.鈥

Allen said it is a great space for commuter students to grab a quick lunch and for international students who never get the opportunity to go home on the weekends because this gives them another place to go and hang out.

Allen said at any given hour of the day, there are about 40 students already utilizing the Bright-Redmon Commons and many into the late night hours. The Bright-Redmon Commons is open until 2 a.m.

A variety of items are available for purchase at Books n Beans including: donuts from Best Donut, chips, granola bars, candy bars, pop tarts, turtle brownies, yogurt, popcorn, cinnamon rolls, and a variety of drinks including coffee, hot chocolate, hot tea and bottled drinks.

Books n Beans opened to provide an option for students to simply relax, have another food option on campus and get more students in the library.

Donna Malcomson, kiosk manager of Pioneer College Caterers at 青瓜视频, said, 鈥淏ooks n Beans has been very successful so far even though there hasn't much advertising.鈥

青瓜视频 is a widely acclaimed Kentucky-based Christian university with more than 3,600 students offering 63 undergraduate options, 17 master's degrees, five postgraduate areas and eight pre-professional programs. The website for complete information is campbellsville.edu.
