CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - 鈥淢y name is not the name my past calls me. The only name I answer to is the one our eternal Father calls me. The enemy has no power,鈥 Gabby Pyles, a senior at Lindsey Wilson College, said on the first night of Highway 55 Revival.
The first night of the Highway 55 Revival was held at the Ransdell Chapel in Campbellsville. It was a worship night with a very brief word on identity from Pyles.
Pyles said, 鈥淕od calls me friend, chosen art, purposed and fashioned for good things, resident of the Holy Spirit, His child, free, and brand new. What is your new name?鈥
The second night of the Highway 55 Revival was at Lindsey Wilson College in the Hodge Auditorium. Keely Dennis, a freshman at Lindsey Wilson, preached on the topic of 鈥渃lothed- the outfit of identity.鈥
Dennis said, 鈥淚dentity is what you believe about who you are, and how you walk in it.鈥
She also said, 鈥淲e are chosen, a bright light in a dark world, healed by His wounds.
鈥淚t is possible to wear kindness, but to wear shame at the same time. Knowing something and believing something are completely different.
鈥淪ometimes we are set free from sin, but not by shame. Shame is heavy and crippling. We should be excited to wear newness and freedom. To be 99 percent known is to be one 100 percent unknown, and sometimes we try to hide our past from ourselves.鈥
鈥淲e need to tell God what we need to be clothed in and what we need to take off,鈥 Dennis said, 鈥淲e must be vulnerable [when praying to God]. Jesus does not want to just fix a piece [of your old clothes], He wants to completely re-clothe you.鈥
When speaking about worth, Dennis said, 鈥淥ur beauty is rooted in Him.鈥
John 20:6-7 says, 鈥淭hen Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb. He saw the linen cloths lying there, and the face cloth which had been on Jesus' head, not lying with linen cloths but folded up in a place by itself.鈥 Dennis quoted this verse saying, 鈥淓ven Jesus left behind His old clothes that signified death.鈥
On an Instagram post Dennis later posted, she said, 鈥淩evival is not something you can plan. Revival starts in hearts. Freedom was found. Old clothes taken off and thrown away. New clothes put on. Thank you, Jesus.鈥
Sandra Stillwell, a 青瓜视频 senior from Elizabethtown, Ky., said about the Highway 55 Revival, 鈥淭wo rival schools. Two nights. One purpose鈥擩esus. Revival was incredible.
鈥淭here's been a shift in perspective, understanding and worship鈥攏ot only for myself, but for those involved. Seeing two communities unified solely to praise the Lord, has shook me. It would be an understatement to say my life's been altered.
鈥淟et's just say: When you taste and see that the Lord is good, it is very hard to be satisfied with anything less than His presence.鈥
