青瓜视频 Announces Student Juried Art Show Winners

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Each year, students in 青瓜视频's art department compete in a student juried art show.

The spring 2007 juried art show named several winners, and they are as follows:

Drawing: Lindey Nelson, an art major with minors in Biblical studies and secondary education from Jacksonville, Ala., first place for 鈥淕od Has a Green Thumb鈥; Miranda Meeks, an art major and secondary education minor from Princeton, Ky., second place for 鈥淭he Rose鈥; and Charles Dunlap, an art major from Campbellsville, Ky., third place for 鈥淭ragedy.鈥

Painting: Seth Hart, an art major and secondary education minor from Monticello, Ky., first place for 鈥淣ature Still Life鈥; Emmeline Womble, an art major from Hopkinsville, Ky., second place for 鈥淥nce Upon A Dream鈥; Hart, third place for 鈥淎rt Supplies Still Life鈥; and Nelson, honorable mention for 鈥淢ary At His Feet.鈥

Photography: Stephanie Walston, an art education major and secondary education minor from Raywick, Ky., first place for 鈥淗earts and Mountains鈥; Sarah Sprague, an elementary education major and art minor from Randolph, Vt., second place for 鈥淚t Really Does Snow in Kentucky鈥 and third place for 鈥淢aggie鈥; and Jazz Page, an art major with minors in psychology and aquatics management from Hardinsburg, Ky., honorable mention for 鈥淨uiet Time.鈥

Ceramics: Donna Quick, an art major and marketing minor from Louisville, Ky., first place for 鈥淏lue Bowl鈥; and Hart, second place for 鈥淭exture Teapot.鈥

Scultpture: Nelson, first place for 鈥淢ake My Chest a Place鈥; Hart, second place for 鈥淐huck Norris Sculpture鈥; and Dunlap, third place for 鈥淎nother Friday.鈥

Miscellaneous: Meeks, first place for 鈥淒oodles鈥; Quick, second place for 鈥淒ancing Mask鈥; and Meeks, third place for 鈥淚magine.鈥

Glasgow artist Davie Reneau judged the competition. Reneau has exhibited at CU many times and is also an adjunct art instructor at CU.

The Art department of 青瓜视频 provides visual learners in a Christian liberal arts context with an undergraduate program composed of an art area (48 hours), an art major (36 hours), or an art minor (24 hours).

The art program prepares students for careers in art production, art education, and graduate school for further studies such as studio art, art therapy, arts administration, art history, arts education, museum studies among others.

The art department is composed of two full-time professors, Linda J. Cundiff, professor and chair of the department of art, and Tommy Ray Clark, professor of art, who are assisted by several adjunct professors.
