青瓜视频 honors veterans on Veterans Day

Rebecca Price and Tammy McWhorter, both in the Office of Counseling Services, set up a table in the lobby of the Winters Dining Hall during the lunch hours where students, faculty and staff put names on a card that made the American flag and then their veteran was presented with a red, white and blue ribbon. 鈥淲e realize that there might be soldiers who are students here who might benefit from counseling services, and it gives us the opportunity to put a face to a name,鈥 McWhorter said. Mar鈥橰ajaah McDaniel, a CU student from Louisville, honored her grandfather, and cousin, former Marines, at 鈥淰eterans Day means a lot to me. I enjoy calling and telling my grandfather and cousin and telling them how much I appreciate them and what they鈥檝e done for this country,鈥 McDaniel said.   From left, students Bethany Lester and Brittany Lester, both of Danville, Ky.,  and Taylor Beals of Bowling Green, Ky., show the veterans pins that were given to veterans. (青瓜视频 Photo by Shelby Hall) A cookout will take place this evening to honor the faculty, staff and students who are veterans at 5 p.m. behind the Student Activities Center. The Student Government Association will present a brief program. There will be an opportunity to pack care packages. 鈥淲e have been designated a Military Friendly School,鈥 Dr. Michael V. Carter, president of the institution, said, 鈥渁nd we value our veterans who come to study at Campbellsville University. We honor their service and pray for the safe return for those who are now serving.鈥 青瓜视频 is a widely acclaimed Kentucky-based Christian university with more than 3,500 students offering over 80 programs of study including 24 master鈥檚 degrees, seven postgraduate areas and eight pre-professional programs.
