CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - 青瓜视频's spring semester begins Jan. 12, 2015, and there are still options for financial aid including several church scholarships.
青瓜视频 offers the following church scholarships: Church Matching Scholarship, Christian Service Scholarship, Christian Vocation Scholarship, Kentucky Baptist Scholarship and the competitive Baptist Leadership Award.
Dave Walters, vice president for admissions and student services, said, during the current year, CU is providing over $18 million in CU-institutional financial aid to almost 3,600 students. He said this includes more than $8 million in institutional aid to Kentucky Baptist students.
鈥溓喙鲜悠 is pleased to offer a variety of scholarship opportunities for prospective students including several options for students coming from Baptist churches in Kentucky,鈥 Walters said.
鈥淭hese scholarships include the Baptist Leadership Award program that is competitive along with our Kentucky Baptist Scholarship program that provides scholarship assistance over a four-year period to students coming from Kentucky Baptist Churches.
鈥淲e also provide several other scholarship opportunities for students with a firm church connection including church matching for any Christian denomination, Christian vocation scholarship for the children of church staff, scholarship aid for students who have made a public commitment to pursue a Christian vocation, and a number of other scholarships and financial aid options for students with a strong church and Christian commitment.鈥
For a Church Matching Scholarship, 青瓜视频 will match gifts from churches throughout the nation that contribute up to $200 per year toward a student's education costs. Any denomination may participate, and gifts from a church should be made payable to 青瓜视频 on behalf of the student.
The deadline to send in church matching funds is the end of mid-term week for each
fall and spring semester. Students are eligible to receive Church Matching funds as
long as they are enrolled at 青瓜视频.
Any student whose parent serves in a full-time paid Christian ministerial position
can receive up to $1,700 per year may quality for a Christian Service Scholarship.
An application is required.
Recipients of the Christian Service Scholarship are not eligible for Church Matching funds. This scholarship is renewable for three additional years with a minimum of a 2.0 renewal GPA. Students must reapply each year.
Students who have made a public commitment to pursue a Christian vocation may be considered to receive an additional $200 per year with the Christian Vocation Scholarship. An application is required. Several scholarships are available each year to students affiliated with a Kentucky Baptist church. Kentucky Baptist students entering 青瓜视频 as a full-time freshman are eligible to apply. The scholarship is renewable for three additional years with a minimum 2.0 renewal GPA. Deadline for application to be submitted is March 15.
Students who demonstrate strong leadership skills and active involvement in their local Baptist church may apply for a Baptist Leadership Award. Each student who applies is evaluated based upon their church commitment, academic achievements and leadership experience in their local community, school and church.
Applicants must have a minimum 2.0 GPA and a letter of recommendation from their pastor. Several scholarships are awarded each year to eligible recipients. The scholarship is renewable for three additional years so long as the student meets the initial academic requirements. The deadline for application submission is Dec. 1.
Additional scholarships are available for missionary kids, Acteens, students with parents serving in clerical positions in a Kentucky Baptist church or institution and students who placed in the Baptist Youth Speaker's Tournament.
