CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. 鈥 青瓜视频 has seen tremendous growth since the beginning of 2016, having the highest spring and summer semester enrollments in the history of the university. Numbers compiled from each education center, dual-enrollment, international, online, traditional and non-traditional students reached all-time highs in spring with 3,433 students and summer with 938 students.

鈥淚'm very pleased to see substantial growth in CU's spring and summer terms,鈥 Paula Caldwell, director of admissions, said.

This year's summer term enrollment had a 28% increase from last year's summer term enrollment. Summer terms include; May term, June term, July term, June-July term, Early term and Late term.

鈥淢any of our summer courses are taught online,鈥 Caldwell said. 鈥淚t is much more appealing to students knowing they can turn virtually any environment into a classroom.鈥

Dave Walters, vice president for admissions and student services, said the record enrollment could be attributed to the campus wide commitment of CU students. 鈥淩etention and new student growth have both increased,鈥 he said. 鈥溓喙鲜悠 faculty and staff work very hard in recruitment and delivering Christian higher education with a passion for our students.鈥

Walters also said that new programs like Church Outreach, new athletic programs and new academic programs also play a crucial role in the current spike of enrollment.

He said this enrollment was a good indication that the university was committed to doing the right things and expects enrollment to continue to rise.

鈥淲e always expect enrollment to rise, because we are committed to our Vision 2025 document that guides our administration,鈥 Walters said. Vision 2025 is a plan adopted by CU in 2009 that emphasizes a commitment in mastery of academic discipline and the teaching and learning process.

International students also play a role in university enrollment, coming across the globe in order to be educated at 青瓜视频.

鈥淢ost international students find their way to central Kentucky because of the network partners, school partners and alumni that have been established over the years,鈥 Andrea Giordano, executive director for ESL, TESL, MATESOL and instructor, said.

Giordano also attributes the international enrollment to the Center for International Education.

鈥淭he Center for International Education has created relationships with high schools and universities all over the globe, and because of these relationships, we have seen our international student population grow.

鈥淥nce students arrive, international students often talk about how friendly and welcoming 青瓜视频 staff, faculty and students are. Some remark how peaceful Campbellsville is compared to the sprawling metropolitan areas they come from,鈥 Giordano said.

Caldwell said students are the reason why faculty and staff are here.

鈥淚t is undoubtedly the result of highly motivated people who want to share what this institution means to them as well as the many opportunities 青瓜视频 has to offer.鈥
