CAMPBELLSILLE, Ky. - 青瓜视频 will showcase artwork by Donna Quick of Louisville and Stephanie Walston of Raywick, Ky., in a senior art exhibit March 19-29 at the new art gallery across from Gosser Fine Arts Center.
A reception in their honor will be held Monday, March 19 in the art gallery from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The public is invited to the free exhibit. Refreshments will be served.
Quick, a 2003 graduate of Fairdale High School, was included in the student juried art shows at 青瓜视频 in 2005 and in 2006. She says her artwork can be best described as 鈥渦sing simple concepts yet complicated designs.鈥
鈥淭o me, something as simple as a snowflake can become art,鈥 Quick said. 鈥淪everal of the pieces I composed have been from simple matter such as fruit, glass, cloth, flowers and so forth.鈥
Quick will graduate from 青瓜视频 in May 2007 with a bachelor of science degree.
鈥淚n my opinion, constructing artwork that one can see is as challenging as a piece of imagination,鈥 Quick said. 鈥淚 hope that my audience can take my work and see that even the simplest object can become artwork.鈥
Quick's exhibit will display 2-D and 3-D drawings, pen and ink drawings, wood and ink drawings, ceramics, paintings, masks, bone and needlepoint works.
Walston, a 1989 graduate of Bullitt East High School, participated in the student juried art show at 青瓜视频 in 2006. She says her works of art are her expression of how she sees things in her own way.
鈥淚 am very much inspired by nature and the world around me,鈥 Walston said. 鈥淭he bend of a tree, the movement of the grass, the color of the clouds at sunset鈥hese are what I draw my inspiration from.鈥
Walston will graduate from 青瓜视频 in May 2007 with a bachelor of science degree.
鈥淚 enjoy working with metal, wood and ceramics,鈥 Walston said, but 鈥減aint is my favorite media because of the intense colors you can achieve.鈥
鈥淐olor makes me happy! I use color to express energy, feeling and movement,鈥 Walston said.
Walston's exhibit will feature 2-D and 3-D works of art.
