CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky.- 鈥淰ariety is the first thing that comes to mind about my work,鈥 said Cheryl Sullivan of Campbellsville, who will have her artwork featured in a senior exhibit at 青瓜视频. The exhibit begins Nov. 27 and runs to Dec.14 at 青瓜视频's Art Gallery, in a stone house across from the Gosser Fine Arts Center.

The reception will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2 in the Gallery. The reception and show are free and open to the public.

Her past exhibits include spring juried shows at 青瓜视频. She said her artwork is a way of expressing herself, as well as relaxing. 鈥淚 can step out of my busy frame of mind and just go,鈥 she said.

Variety is one of the main characteristics of her artwork. She said she enjoys experimenting on different drawing and painting surfaces. Many of the media she uses include oil and acrylic paints, graphite, colored pencil, ceramics, collage and photography. She will display oil and acrylic paintings, pastel, graphite, photography and 3-D.

Sullivan's techniques range from small detail strokes to large strokes of the medium she uses.

鈥淚 found that being an artist can be difficult at times. For me, it takes diligence, determination, patience and creativity in my artwork. This can be exhausting. However, I have discovered that good things come from this hard work and my work prospers,鈥 said Sullivan.

Sullivan is a graduating art student earning a bachelor of science with a minor in journalism. She has studied graphics, design and layout in various classes, as well as at her internship at Custom Business Solutions in Campbellsville. Sullivan is a 1997 graduate of Campbellsville High School.

Besides being a student at CU, Sullivan is also a mother of two children, Zachary and Jasmin.

She intends to work in the graphics design field upon graduation in December 2006.
