CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - The Rev. Larry Rowell of Campbellsville, minister of education and administration at Campbellsville Baptist Church, will speak at CU's chapel/convocation Wednesday, March 21 at 10 a.m. in the Powell Athletic Center on campus.
Chapel/convocation is free and open to the public.
Rowell received his associate of science degree from South Georgia College in 1975 and his bachelor of science degree from Valdosta State College in 1977. He graduated from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1981 with a master's degree in religious education.
Before coming to Campbellsville, Rowell served as a missionary in West Africa from 1987 through 2003 under the International Mission Board, part of the Southern Baptist Convention. He served as pastor of First Baptist Church in Lyons, Ga. from 1983 through 1987 and as associate pastor of Beargrass Christian Church in Louisville from 1981 through 1983.
Rowell has held positions as president of Campbellsville's Kiwanis Club and board chairman of the Central Kentucky Crisis Pregnancy Center. He serves as a chaplain for Campbellsville Taylor County Rescue.
He is married to Edwina Rowell and is the father to Parker Rowell, a CU alumnus.
