CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Dr. Donald A. Zent, professor of piano at Asbury College, will perform a faculty piano recital Thursday, Oct. 26 at 7:30 p.m. in The Gheens Recital Hall of the Gosser Fine Arts Center Gallery at 青瓜视频.
The program will include a late sonata of Beethoven; works by Brazilian composers Barbosa, Mignone and Villa-Lobos; movements from a programmatic work of Szymanowski; and arabesques on the 鈥淏eautiful Blue Danube鈥 by Johann Strauss/Schulz-Evler.
The public is invited to attend this free recital.
Zent has taught college music students for 33 years, first at Indiana Wesleyan University (formerly Marion College) and second, since 1988, at Asbury College in Wilmore, Ky.
As professor of piano and coordinator of keyboard studies at Asbury, he teaches applied piano, group piano and piano pedagogy. In 2006, Zent taught graduate piano students at the Northern Baptist Theological Seminary in Recife, Brazil.
A piano soloist and accompanist, he holds three degrees in piano performance: bachelor of music and master of music, both from Indiana University, and doctor of musical arts from College-Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati.
Some of his piano teachers have included Edoardo Berlendis, Rebecca Penneys, Santos Ojeda, Jorge Bolet, Nicholas Zumbro, Tong Il Han and Gizi Szanto.
