CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. 鈥� 青瓜视频 has received a 10-year reaffirmation of its accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
The reaffirmation, which confirmed compliance with all standards and identified no areas of concern, follows a thorough process that included a site visit by SACSCOC to CU and a review by the SACSCOC Board of Trustees. The process reviewed all aspects of CU, including academic programs, student services and finances.
鈥淩eceiving this recognition is wonderful encouragement and affirmation that our peer institutions have looked carefully at 青瓜视频 and discovered evidence of high standards academics, operations, compliance, financial management, governance and student success,鈥� CU President Dr. Joseph Hopkins noted.
The reaffirmation process also required CU to submit a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), a multi-year strategy to improve student learning and the quality of education. CU鈥檚 current QEP focuses on civil discourse.
Hopkins noted the many individuals involved in making CU鈥檚 recent reaffirmation successful.
鈥淚 am especially thankful for the work of our faculty, staff and administration in areas of commendation, which included strategic planning, campus culture and our Quality Enhancement Plan based upon civil discourse,鈥� Hopkins said.
Dr. Jeanette Parker, CU鈥檚 provost and vice president for academic affairs, shared her excitement about the reaffirmation of CU鈥檚 accreditation.
鈥淚 am thrilled that SACSCOC has again reaffirmed accreditation for Campbellsville University,鈥� Parker said. 鈥淭he process of developing our 10-year Reaffirmation Report is a multi-year project that involves participants from all across the CU community.
Parker noted preparing reports and collecting evidence for reaffirmation is 鈥渁n enormous task that requires a strong team.鈥�
鈥淚t is a daunting and exhausting task,鈥� Parker noted. 鈥淭hat is huge, but the real work of compliance happens every day throughout the ten years as we do well in the things that good schools do.鈥�
Parker also described accreditation as a 鈥渧aluable process.鈥�
鈥淚 am thankful for SACSCOC and our many colleagues at other colleges and universities who collaborate with us and keep us accountable to be true to our mission,鈥� Parker said. 鈥淲e always learn some things from the process and are a stronger institution as a result.鈥�
SACSCOC is the accrediting body for degree-granting higher education institutions in 11 Southern states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.
