CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Edward de los Reyes spoke recently at 青瓜视频's Ransdell Chapel about how Christ can live inside a person once they accept Him as Savior.
Reyes emphasized Colossians 1:27-27 in his address.
鈥淭o them, God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me.鈥�
He said he found within the set of verses three ideas being shown: the gospel is for all, the need to grow in the gospel and to give it out and the Generating power of God.
From Colossians 1:27-29, Reyes analyzed the sentence, 鈥淐hrist in you, the hope of glory,鈥� calling it 鈥渙ne of the most incredible phrases in the Bible.鈥�
The name Christ means Savior/Messiah, Reyes said.
Reyes said God living inside a person is 鈥渕ind-blowing鈥� because God had never lived in people until Christ made it possible by dying on the cross and rising again.
Reyes said God's presence is not limited to a place but in the hearts of all who believe in Him.
Reyes said everyone not Jewish is a Gentile, and Jesus came to save all people - Jews and Gentiles.
Christ, Reyes said, 鈥渉as unified people forever.鈥�
Reyes asked, 鈥淲hat do you do with the fact you have more of God than anyone in the Bible?鈥� He said, 鈥済row in it, give it out, proclaim Jesus and tap into it.鈥�
鈥淕od can live in you, and He wants to. He wants to be in you and change your life,鈥� Reyes said.
God wants to equip people and to help them do things they never thought possible; it's not your power, but the power of Christ inside you 鈥� that's the generating power of God, Reyes said.
鈥淕od is in you. Grow in it and give it out. It's His power, not yours,鈥� he said.
