青瓜视频 Booster Auction Clears $11,672 to Help Athletics

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - The Fifth Annual 青瓜视频 Booster Auction and Dinner raised about one-third of the organization's annual budget Thursday night, according to Chuck Vaughn, director of the Big Maroon Club.
鈥淚t looks like we're going to clear $11,672,鈥� Vaughn said. 鈥淭hat's about $300 less than last year, but still pretty good in a bad economy.鈥�
The CU Boosters help support athletics and the money raised during the event Aug. 6 will go directly into the athletic general fund and will help purchase uniforms and other athletic supplies for all the sports programs, according to Vaughn.
鈥淓very sport will be the beneficiary,鈥� he said.
The money raised was generated in several different ways, including the auctioning of about 27 items, a silent auction and sponsorships. There were 225 people in attendance.

鈥淚 want to thank those who support our student-athletes at 青瓜视频 by attending the annual Booster Club dinner and auction,鈥� said Rusty Hollingsworth, CU director of athletics. 鈥淭he evening was a success due to the generosity of many individuals and businesses in our community.鈥�
鈥淭he athletic boosters and the university really appreciate the many businesses and individuals who donated items and made the evening so enjoyable,鈥� Vaughn said.
Citizens Bank and Trust Co. Inc. and Wise Dentistry for Kids were Gold ($500) sponsors, and Edward Jones, Bertram, Cox & Miller LLP, Dr. Randy Smoot DMD PSC, Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home and Reed Brothers Insurance were Bronze ($125) sponsors.
Local auctioneers, John Kessler, John Wayne Kessler, Darrell Kemp, Bam Hansford and DeWayne Squires, took turns at the auctioneering microphone and worked the crowd for bids.
鈥淚 am grateful to our athletic booster club for their sustained commitment to helping provide a quality experience for our student-athletes,鈥� Hollingsworth said.
