CU Employs Fathergill as New Admissions Counselor

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky.鈥擪erri Fathergill, of Campbellsville, has been named an admissions counselor at 青瓜视频, according to Dr. Michael V. Carter, president.

Fathergill will be serving and recruiting from the Eastern Kentucky Region which includes counties, Trimble, Carroll, Henry, Owen, Grant, Pendleton, Campbell, Kenton, Boone, Scott, Harrison, Robertson, Bracken, Mason, Fleming, Lewis, Greenup, Bourbon, Nicholas, Boyd, Garrard, Madison, Montgomery, Bath, Rowan, Carter, Lincoln, Rockcastle, Pulaski, McCreary, Whitley, Laurel, Knox, Bell, Clay, Leslie, Harlan, Letcher, Perry, Breathitt, Magoffin, Powell, Wolfe, Morgan, Johnson, Martin, Lawrence, Elliott, Gallatin and Menifee.

Originally from Nicholasville, Ky., Fathergill is a 2003 graduate of West Jessamine High School. She is also a 2007 graduate of 青瓜视频. She received a bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in marketing.

鈥淚 loved being a student at CU,鈥 said Fathergill. 鈥淭he friendships that I have gained over my years as a student here, I know I will cherish for the rest of my life. There is something about the people and the community on this campus that just makes the atmosphere so friendly and such a great place to be in.鈥

Fathergill says she came upon her current position after she had moved to Northern Ireland upon graduating in December 2007. 鈥淲hile I was over there in Ireland, I would pray about what I would do when I came back home and where I would be,鈥 Fathergill said.

After coming back to Campbellsville to visit friends and 鈥減reparing to walk for graduation in May,鈥 she heard of the position opening. 鈥淪ince I used to be a Student Ambassador, I knew that it would be a job that I would like, so I went for it,鈥 Fathergill said. 鈥淭his job is definitely an answer to my prayers.鈥

Fathergill said she loves the people she works with and loves getting to know students. Fathergill also called her position an 鈥渁mazing opportunity.鈥

鈥淲ith this job,鈥 she said, 鈥淚 want to be able to help students figure out where God is calling them and what he wants them to do.鈥

Fathergill plans to begin working towards a master's degree in business administration in September.

As a student, Fathergill played on the Lady Tiger Soccer Team where she received the following: three Academic All-Conference Awards, one Honorable Mention All-Conference, one Second Team All-Conference and one First Team All-Conference Award.

She was also the 2007 Valentine Pageant Queen. She is the daughter of Kim Spears of Nicholasville.
