CU Employs Joe Walters as Senior Campaign Officer Beginning July 1

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -Joe Walters, a member and associate member of the Campbellsville University Board of Trustees nine years, has joined the CU Office of Development staff as senior campaign officer beginning July 1, according to an announcement from Dr. Michael V. Carter, president.

鈥淲e are very pleased to have Mr. Walters join our Office of Development staff,鈥 Carter said.

鈥淗is service as a member of the CU Board of Trustees certainly gives him a unique and intricate perspective of the institution's mission and forward progress. Mr. Walters is acquainted with many friends and supporters of 青瓜视频 so he is wellprepared to help us in his new capacity.鈥

Walters, who has been a long-time supporter of 青瓜视频, has as his primary responsibility the securing of additional annual, major and planned gifts for the university, according to Benji Kelly, vice president for development.

鈥淲e are excited about Joe joining our development staff,鈥 Kelly said. 鈥淛oe brings years of experience to the job and his love for the university is second to none.

鈥淲e look forward to him helping us reach our fundraising goals in the future.鈥

Walters served two consecutive four-year terms on the CU Board of Trustees in 2000-03 and 2004-07. In 2008, he is serving as an associate trustee.

Walters has been employed as commercial loan operations and lender with Community Trust Bank since 2004. He previously worked at 青瓜视频 three years, from 1996 to 1999, as director of special projects/purchasing.

Walters and his wife, Susan Tesseneer Walters, were the owners and managers of Java Joe's from 2000 to 2004, which was located in the building which now houses Campbellsville University's WLCU TV-4.

Walters received a master of divinity degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1988 and a bachelor of science in business administration from Western Kentucky University in 1983. He received clinical pastoral education at North Carolina Baptist Hospital in 1994 and graduated from Green County Vocational School with an accounting major area of study. He also has received training on strategy planning with PACT Consultant Basic Training Seminary.

Walters has also served as chaplain with Catawba Hospital in Catawba, Va.; pastor of Catawba Valley Baptist Church in Catawba, Va.; bookkeeper/accountant with Louisville Cartage Company and was assistant department manager with the College Heights Bookstore at Western Kentucky University.

Walters and his wife, Susan, who formerly was international student advisor at CU, live on Lanai Lane in Campbellsville.
