CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Looking for a fun, educational experience for your child this summer?
青瓜视频's Technology Training Center is in its fifth year holding 鈥淜ids College,鈥 which provides fun, fellowship and learning for students going into grades three through eight in the 2008-09 school year.
Carol Sullivan, director of the technology center at CU, has organized Kids College, the second session of which will be July 21-24. The deadline to apply for the session is July 14.
A first session was June 23-26; and children who attended may return and attend the second session is they desire.
鈥淚t's a program that gives children exposure to technology, art, science and fun things like cooking and crafting,鈥 Sullivan said.
Each session is Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. with a 15-minute break with refreshments.
Students can choose two classes. The first is from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. The second is from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The class choices include 鈥淵ou're the Cook,鈥 鈥淢ad About Science,鈥 鈥淧owerPoint with Pizzazz,鈥 鈥淣o Girls Allowed,鈥 and 鈥淣o Boys Allowed.鈥
Sullivan said the courses are taught by instructors and experts in the different fields.
鈥淲e try to keep the groups small so the children can have a little more individualized attention,鈥 Sullivan said.
鈥淵ou're the Cook鈥 is taught by Tanya Massengale, and 鈥淢ad about Science鈥 is taught by Holly Davis. 鈥淧owerPoint with Pizzazz鈥 is taught by Susie Crowder.
鈥淣o Girls Allowed鈥 is taught by Daran Kennon, who is employed at the Tech Center, and 鈥淣o Boys Allowed鈥 is taught by Belinda Creech.
Tuition for each four day camp is $65, which covers the program including materials, kits, and a T-shirt.
