CU Opera Workshop to be April 25 at Gheens Recital Hall

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - 青瓜视频's Opera Workshop will present a program of opera scenes music from a variety of operas during the upcoming opera workshop presentation Saturday, April 25, at 6 p.m. at The Gheens Recital Hall in the Gosser Fine Arts Center at 210 University Drive, Campbellsville.

Dr. Mark Bradley, professor of music and director of the opera, said, 鈥淭he music will be performed in a concert style much like the old Three Tenor concerts though we have some of all voices represented.鈥

The participants include seven graduate voice students, one voice faculty member, a graduate pianist and two undergraduate voice majors. There are four Brazillians, four South Korean students and three Americans in the cast. Everything will be performed in English, Bradley said.

Music will be performed from Verdi's 鈥淟a Traviata;鈥 Mozart's 鈥淢arriage of Figaro,鈥 鈥淐osi fan tutte,鈥 and 鈥淭he Magic Flute;鈥 Bizet's 鈥淐armen;鈥 and Puccini's 鈥淪uor Angelica.鈥

Participants include: Bradley, director and singer; Carla Farias, pianist; and voice students Samuel Hong of Chantilly, Va.; Youngmi Hyun of Chantilly, Va.; Ahhyun Im of Korea; Tae-eun Moon of Busan, Korea; Debora Morais of Brazil; Cristina Caldas of Barbacena, Brazil; Margareth Miguel of Brazil; Bridgette McIlwaine of Lawrenceburg, Ky., and Lindsey Kleyer of Simpsonville, Ky.

The program should last a little more than an hour.鈥淎nyone desiring to hear wonderful voices singing great music should plan to attend,鈥 Bradley said.

There is no charge for the performance and seating will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. The doors open at 5:30 p.m.
