Doctorate graduates recognized at hooding ceremony

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Commencement and hooding ceremonies mark a 鈥渏oyous and proud moment of celebration鈥 for students and family alike, Dr. Rick Casey told the candidates for hooding at 青瓜视频's Ph.D. hooding ceremony last month.

鈥淵ou should enjoy every minute of this day because it is a day where all of your hard work pays off, and it is your day,鈥 Casey said.

Casey serves as associate dean of the School of Business, Economics and Technology, professor of business and director of the school's Ph.D. program.

The six candidates for hooding, listed with their dissertation, are as follows:

Madison Duncan of Campbellsville, Ky., 鈥淢easured vs. Perceived Credibility of Female Sideline Sports Reporters in Male-Dominated Athletics鈥; Jacob Johnson of Danville, Ky., 鈥淒o as I Do? The Impact of Perceived Organizational Ethical Culture on Employee Engagement in Higher Education鈥;

Jason Lawson of Campbellsville, Ky., 鈥淧ersonal Spirituality and Organizational Citizenship Behaviors in Christian Higher Education鈥; Bruce Singleton of Somerset, Ky., 鈥淭he Kentucky General Assembly Agenda on Cyber Issues: An Empirical Study鈥;

Jason Spears of Milton, W.Va., 鈥淩emote Access in the Court System Post-Covid 19鈥; Josh Switzer of Liberty, Ky., 鈥淎n Examination of the Effect of Self-Efficacy on the Relationship between Adult ADHD and Turnover Intention.鈥

Casey told the candidates, 鈥淵ou have worked tirelessly over the past several years to reach this point, and your dedication and commitment to your research and scholarship have been nothing short of exemplary.鈥

He added that they have tackled complex problems, asked difficult questions and generated new knowledge that has the potential to 鈥渢ransform鈥 their respective fields.

鈥淎s you move on to the next stage of your careers, whether that be in academia, industry, or elsewhere, I encourage you to take with you the values and skills that you have perfected during your time as a doctoral student,鈥 Casey said.

鈥淭hese include perseverance, intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and the ability to communicate complex ideas with clarity and precision.鈥

He reminded the candidates that pursuing knowledge is a lifelong journey, and they have the potential to make a profound impact on the world along the way.

鈥淵ou are now part of a community of scholars who are committed to advancing the frontiers of knowledge, and I have no doubt that you will continue to make significant contributions in your respective fields,鈥 Casey stated.

Dr. Pat Cowherd, dean of the School of Business, Economics and Technology, told the hooding candidates that graduating with a Ph.D. is a 鈥渞emarkable accomplishment.鈥

鈥淵ou should be incredibly proud of your hard work and dedication,鈥 she said.

In wishing them success in their futures, Cowherd explained to the hooding candidates that she hoped their newly-earned Ph.D. would open up countless opportunities for them.

鈥淎s you embark on this new journey, I hope that you will never lose sight of your goals and aspirations. May you always stay true to your values and convictions, and may you never stop learning and growing.鈥
