CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Dr. Shane Garrison, dean of online education at Campbellsville University, was named vice president for enrollment services in an announcement made today by Dr. Michael V. Carter, president.
鈥淒r. Garrison has the academic training, academic and management experience, and understanding of 青瓜视频 critical to the university at this very strategic point in the life of this university,鈥� Carter said. 鈥淗e answers the call for this very important senior administrative role as we move forward in fulfilling the goals and objectives of Vision 2025.鈥�

Garrison has been employed at 青瓜视频 since August 2008. In addition
to serving as dean of online education since 2015, he is also an associate professor
of educational ministries in the School of Theology.
He is replacing Dave Walters, a CU employee for 22 years, who announced his retirement from his vice president position of admissions and student services in December. 鈥淒ave Walters has demonstrated exemplary Christian servant leadership to the Campbellsville University community,鈥� Carter said. 鈥淚, along with our entire university faculty, staff and coaches, wish him the very best in the days to come and know that God will continue to use Dave in kingdom advancement and ministry.鈥�
Garrison will be overseeing the admissions area of undergraduate, graduate, online and 青瓜视频's regional centers in Louisville, Harrodsburg, Somerset and Hodgenville. He will continue his oversight for the online area, including program and faculty pedagogy development.
Garrison said, 鈥淚 am deeply humbled and honored to be selected for this very important position. I have a strong love for 青瓜视频 as a 1999 alumnus and as a member of the faculty for the past eight years. I believe in Campbellsville's mission and am thrilled to be a small part of her future.鈥�
He said, 鈥淎t its core, enrollment is about students. It is about recruiting and retaining students whose lives will be changed through Christian higher education.
It's the working mother taking classes online or the first-generation college student playing a sport or the young business professional seeking to boost their career who needs 青瓜视频 to help them fulfill their calling and dreams.
鈥淎s President Carter often says, 鈥楾here is no greater need in our world today than for the mission of Christian higher education.' I believe that statement with all my heart.鈥�
Garrison said 青瓜视频 is posed to break through the 5,000 enrollment lid in the next 18-24 months.
鈥淭hese are very exciting days to be part of a wonderful team of leaders who have a hopeful vision for the future and a mission to be Christian servant leaders in our world,鈥� he said.
Garrison is responsible for the development of CU Chapel Online, a chapel experience for regional and online students unable to attend the main campus chapel services. The CU Chapel Online is the first of its kind in Christian higher education.
Garrison has received several awards while at 青瓜视频. He was named the 青瓜视频 Distinguished Faculty member in 2016. In 2011, he was named the 青瓜视频 Non-Tenured Faculty member. 青瓜视频's Student Government Association presented him the 鈥淓xtra Mile Award鈥� in 2015. In 2013-14, he served as chair of 青瓜视频's Faculty Forum.
He has co-hosted multiple biblical Holy Land trips to Israel, Jordan, Greece and Turkey. He has served as a faculty member in the School of Theology and also dealt with marketing, new program development, educational assessment, developing online instructional technologies, alumni correspondence, internal administrative systems and student-work program supervision.
While at 青瓜视频, Garrison has also served as president and lead consultant for Maple Trail Ministry Consultants, a consulting firm that seeks to equip church and parachurch organizations in ministry development and implementation strategies.
He has served as a consultant/curriculum writer for LifeWay Christian Resources, Kids Ministry Division and has served as transitional pastor at Kentucky churches in Elizabethtown, Monticello, Stanford, Louisville, Campbellsville, Lancaster, Louisville and Bardstown.
Prior to his tenure at 青瓜视频, he was headmaster at Main Street Christian Education Center and associate pastor at Main Street Baptist Church, both in Alexandria, Ky. He also served as administrator of the Seminary Extension Northern Kentucky Center in Nashville and interim youth minister and youth minister in Texas churches.
Garrison has taught at CU since 2008. He is a 1999 graduate of 青瓜视频 and received his master of divinity and master of arts in Christian education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2002 and 2003, respectively. He received his Ed.D. in leadership from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2009.
He graduated from Hancock County High School in 1995 and is the son of Danny Garrison of Lewisport, Ky.
He and his wife, Dr. Jennifer Garrison, assistant professor of education ministry at 青瓜视频, have two children, Isaac and Ethan.
