CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky.鈥斺淢arriage is a picture of God and his people.鈥 The Rev. Jeff Eaton, formerly of Campbellsville, delivered a session on marriage at his address at Campbellsville University recently.

Eaton is pastor of Hope Community Church in Frankfort, Ky., and is a graduate of Campbellsville University. He spoke on having a healthy marriage and covered topics including spirituality, finances, understanding communication, sexuality, and dealing with in-laws.

鈥淢arriage is a spiritual and physical union with one another,鈥 Eaton said. 鈥淚n just living together, you are not living in a covenant relationship.鈥

He also spoke about how his responsibilities in the church go hand in hand with his responsibility to be a husband. 鈥淚 can't mistreat my wife and say that I am God-honoring pastor,鈥 Eaton said. 鈥淕od will never honor dishonor.鈥

Eaton also highlighted special points of interest to the men and women in the audience. He said to women in the crowd, 鈥淢en have to be bragged on.鈥 To men he said 鈥淲omen just want us to listen. Listening is intimacy. Look at your wife and say, 鈥楬oney, I have felt that way too!' That always makes everything alright.鈥

He also highlighted the impact that 鈥渢respassing outside of the marriage鈥 can have.

鈥淏e faithful to your God and be faithful to your wife,鈥 Eaton said. 鈥淵ou don't have to be compatible on everything. The enemy wants to destroy your marriage before you even have it.鈥
