鈥溓喙鲜悠 wanted to be a participant in the efforts of the crusade,鈥 said Ed Pavy, director of campus ministries at 青瓜视频. 鈥淭herefore, we thought including Gage as a guest speaker for chapel was a great opportunity for students to hear him speak and thus be inspired to participate in the crusade.鈥
According to the biography on his Web site, gotellministries.com, in 1986, Gage surrendered his life to full-time ministry after walking away from a promising coaching career in football. A few years later Gage became the founder of GO TELL Crusades Inc. Ever since he has been conducting evangelistic events around the world and has seen tens of thousands make public professions of faith to Jesus Christ.
GO TELL Crusades statement of faith said, 鈥淲e believe regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for the salvation of lost and sinful man, and that repentance from sin and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is the only way to come into a relationship with God. We believe eternal life is received by faith 鈥 that is, trusting in Jesus Christ alone for salvation.鈥
Gage's GO TELL Youth Camps began in 1989 reaching multitudes of various students and youth groups across the country. As a direct result, thousands of students have made commitments to Jesus Christ and the full-time ministry.
In addition, Gage has presented his commended 鈥淥n Track鈥 assembly program to more than 2 million teenagers in the nation's schools. This program engages on the addictions of drugs and alcohol. Gage has also appeared on many T.V. and radio programs.
Gage is the author of 鈥淒ownload鈥 a Bible study that targets and inspires young people to grow in their Christian walk and faith. He is also the author of 鈥淢ore Than a Game鈥 his autobiography.
Gage, his wife, Lynne, and their daughters, Sara and Anna, live near Atlanta, Ga.
鈥淗e is a very fine evangelist and gifted preacher,鈥 said John Chowning, vice president for church and external relations and executive assistant to the president. 鈥淕age has been very active in the community and has held summer camps at our campus for the last two years. We thought he would convey the spirit of a Christian revival to our campus.鈥
