CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky.鈥- Jamie Ward, co-lead pastor of Hillvue Heights Church in Bowling Green, Ky., and a 1994 Campbellsville College alumnus, said 鈥淎t its heart, Christianity is about Jesus鈥 at 青瓜视频's chapel Feb. 24.
Ward said he knows how it can be easy at times to lose faith. 鈥淓ven if you're a believer or falling away from your faith, examine the person of Jesus,鈥 Ward said.
He said people look at Jesus differently based on their religion, but Jesus is still claimed by major religions.
Ward read a verse from the Bible saying: 鈥淗e is the image to the invisible God the firstborn of all creation for by him all things were created in heaven and on Earth.鈥 Ward said, 鈥淎ll things were created through Jesus, and for Jesus.鈥
Ward said Christianity has become diverse within time. 鈥淎s we look through scriptures and we see the life of Christ, and how he lived his life and the way he interacted with people, it's amazing. It's one of the reasons why Christianity is one of the most diverse moments in all of history,鈥 Ward said.
Ward said to let all of the other distractions go, and focus on Christ, because Christ created us for himself. Ward read verse John 3:16: 鈥淔or God so loved the world he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.鈥
鈥淗e loves you and he has a plan for you,鈥 he said.
Ward said some of us might be having trouble caring about God, but he reminds us that even if we don't care, God will always love and care for us no matter what.
鈥淲hoever believes in him, would not perish but have everlasting life,鈥 Ward said. He said to always turn to God, for God said, 鈥淚'll never leave you or forsake you.鈥
鈥淲e live our life for an audience of one, and that is Jesus,鈥 Ward said.
