CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - April Webb, a senior at 青瓜视频 from Magnolia, Ky., will have a reception as part of her Senior Art Exhibition from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Friday, April 1, at The Pence-Chowning Art Gallery, 205 University Drive, Campbellsville.
Her exhibit is open at the art gallery now until April 1. The gallery's hours, exhibitions, and receptions are listed on Art and Design page at /academics/programs/art-and-design/gallery/.
Webb will graduate in May with a Bachelor of Science in Art with a Graphic Design Emphasis.
Webb, an artist, designer, miniaturist and writer, dabbles in traditional arts such as charcoal drawings and digital pieces such as food labels, books and cafe虂 menus. She also makes miniature food and packaging from polymer clay and other materials.
Inspired by Korean and Asian culture, Webb's 3-D works reflect this interest in her designs from album covers to ball jointed doll clothing. As a film minor, Webb hopes to make the plots and characters as intricate and sagacious as reflected in Korean drama.
鈥淓ver since my mother introduced me to the pen and the paintbrush, I've been creating,鈥 Webb said in her artist statement.
Webb's sister, Anna Webb, will have her Senior Art Exhibition April 4-8.
鈥淥ver time, and along with my sister, it's become not just art, but building characters, worlds, and stories,鈥 April said. 鈥淢y sister and I share so many aspirations and interest that others may not understand or misinterpret, but we are both artists who want to continue to please our Heavenly Father with the talents and skills He has blessed us with.鈥
Webb worked from 2018 to 2021 as an anchor, reporter and producer for WLCU. She also worked on the costume and wardrobe crew in 青瓜视频's Theatre Department last year.
Her film projects and roles include the following: set director of short film 鈥淗eavy Price鈥 (2018); a self-made film titled 鈥淢agic鈥 and an actress in a short film titled 鈥淕ift鈥 in 2019; and co-director and co-camera operator of a short film titled 鈥淎nother Day鈥 in 2020.
Her work was exhibited at the annual juried show at 青瓜视频 in 2019. Her work appeared in the Russell Creek Review, the literary and visual arts journal for the university, in 2020 and 2022.
