Woodwind Day, featuring The Dozier Winds, to be held at 青瓜视频 Jan. 25

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - 青瓜视频 will be hosting a Woodwind Day on Saturday, Jan. 25 in The Gheens Recital Hall.

鈥淭he Woodwind Day is a special event for our CU woodwind and horn students, as well as local middle school and high school students,鈥 Dr. Lisa McArthur, professor of music, theory and flute at 青瓜视频, said.

The students will have the opportunity to perform in a full woodwind ensemble, work with and for professionals who specialize on their instrument, perform in and listen to concerts, attend a panel discussion about 鈥淐ollege and Careers in Music鈥 and shop with vendors, according to McArthur.

鈥淲e are excited to welcome several guests to our campus, as well as some guests from the U.S. Army,鈥 McArthur said.

Featured at the event as guest performers will be a Woodwind Quintet, The Dozier Winds, from the 282nd Army Band, Fort Jackson, S.C. The group will be teaching and performing through the day, including concerts at 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. in The Gheens Recital Hall. 鈥淭hese concerts are free and open to the public and our campus community,鈥 McArthur said.
