The English Department at 青瓜视频 hosts a variety of annual events that celebrate literature, creativity, and the vibrant student community. Highlights include the beloved English Department Tea Party, where students and faculty come together for engaging discussions and literary activities, and the lively Bard鈥檚 Birthday Bash, a fun-filled celebration of Shakespeare's legacy with performances, readings, and more.
These events, along with others throughout the year, offer students unique opportunities to connect with peers, engage with faculty, and immerse themselves in the literary world in a social and festive setting.

The English Department鈥檚 annual Tea Party, typically held in late September, invites the entire campus community to enjoy food and conversation with English faculty and students. Since 2017, we鈥檝e been serving hot tea, homemade cakes, small sandwiches, and scones with jam and cream. We warmly welcome you to join us!
Each April, around the 23rd, the English Department celebrates Shakespeare鈥檚 birthday with a fun-filled event featuring Shakespeare-themed games, snacks, and performances by the CU Theatre Department. Everyone is invited to enjoy Shakespearean-inspired cookies, try their luck at the Shakespearean Wheel of Death, receive a Shakespearean fortune, pose as Shakespeare or Queen Elizabeth I, rewrite a scene with Shakespearean Mad-libs, watch CU Theatre students perform iconic Shakespearean scenes, and play 'Pin the Soap on Lady Macbeth.'
