CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - It's a party, and everyone is invited.
青瓜视频's Homecoming 鈥淭here's NO place like homecoming鈥� is Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Oct. 3-5, and there are activities for everyone ranging from a car show, football game, art exhibit, a play, reunions and so much more.
鈥淗omecoming is a really great time to get together with old friends and celebrate,鈥� Paula Smith, director of alumni relations, said.
鈥淲e hope everyone can come back and see the beautiful CU campus, see former professors and visit with your classmates from years ago,鈥� she said.
The 1953 class is having its 60th year reunion recognition at 6 p.m. Oct. 3. And the class of 1963 is having a meet and greet at 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 4, followed by a convocation in their honor at 10 a.m., both in the Banquet Hall.
The Golden Heritage Luncheon, for those graduates from 50 years ago and back, will be at 11 a.m. in the Betty Dobbins House on Oct. 4.
Theme night is celebrating the Wizard of Oz's 75th anniversary with 鈥淭here's NO place like homecoming!鈥� There will be 鈥淎untie's M's鈥� country cooking in the Winters Dining Hall from 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m.
A Homecoming reception is at 6 p.m. Oct. 4 in the Banquet Hall when the Distinguished Alumni will be announced.
The CU theater department will present 鈥淗ow to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying鈥� at 8 p.m. Oct. 4 in the Russ Mobley Theater of the Alumni Building. Other play times are Oct. 3 at 7 p.m., Oct. 5 at 7 p.m., Oct. 6 at 2:30 p.m., Oct. 11-12 at 7 p.m. and Oct. 13 at 2:30 p.m. Call the theater office at (270) 789-5266 for reservations.
And the Maroon Goons will lead the way for Homecoming spirit at 9 p.m. with rally behind the Student Activities Center.
There is a full day of activities Saturday, Oct. 5 beginning with a Homecoming breakfast buffet from 8:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. in Winters Dining Hall. There will an alumni breakfast reunion of former Student Government Association members from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in the Davenport Student Commons.
A car/motorcycle show is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the lawn of Montgomery Library. A motorcycle ride is at 9:30 p.m.
Alumni can register on Stapp Lawn from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Al Hardy, former dean of academic support at CU, will speak at an 鈥淥ldies but Goodies鈥� presentation at 10 a.m. in Ransdell Chapel. He will reminisce and tell funny stories about days at CU.
You can see an art exhibit by alumnus Larry Don Parker of Louisville in the Pence-Chowning Art Gallery at 10 a.m.
A parade, featuring CU floats, organizations and cars from the car show, will begin at 11 a.m. Oct. 5 and go through downtown Campbellsville.
The Exie Boys, a group from Greensburg, Ky., will perform on the Chowning Patio from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of Montgomery Library.
A Grab and Go Lunch will be served at noon with food from Papa John's Pizza, Lee's Famous Recipe and barbecue from Winters Dining Hall served on Stapp Lawn.
CU authors, featuring alumni Jacqueline Hardy, Gwinn Hahn and Dr. Damon Eubank, plus Dr. Candace Hansford, will sign their books beginning at noon along the Maple Trail.
The Homecoming Festival is from noon to 2 p.m. on Stapp Lawn where lots of activities are taking place. Clubs will set up booths, there will be face painting and you can have blood pressure and vitals taken by School of Nursing students.
There will be five-year reunions on Stapp Lawn in a tent. The classes of 1968, 1973, 1978, 1983, 1988, 1983, 1998, 2003 and 2008 will be honored.
The CU Chorale, with help from chorale alumni, will sing the National Anthem at 1:45 p.m. at Citizens Bank Field at Finley Stadium.
The Homecoming football game begins at 2 p.m. against Kentucky Christian University at Citizens Bank Field at Finley Stadium.
The Lady Tigers Soccer Team plays the University of Rio Grande at 7:30 p.m. on Citizens Bank Field, and the men's team plays at 9:30 p.m.
